REACH: The Challenges Ahead

One might think that with last year’s REACH phase-in deadline seeing over 25,000 regulatory submissions covering the registration of more than 3,400 different chemical substances, the burden of REACH has now passed. In reality this is far from the truth.

With an even greater number of substances predicted to be registered in time for the next phase-in deadline in May 2013, last year's activities were perhaps just a small proportion of the workload facing the chemical industry.

Exponent invites you to attend our fourth webinar on REACH, where we will discuss:

  • The demands and details of post-2010 work
  • Recent changes to the safety data sheet requirements, and
  • The obligations on downstream users and all important information on the authorization procedure.

As the chemical industry once again begins to mobilize to ensure regulatory compliance, it will find itself having to deal with several things, notably:

  • Not only the daunting requirements of the upcoming registration deadline, now just over 2 years away, but also with ongoing actions to support those registrations submitted at the end of last year, such as updates and as a result of evaluation by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).

  • There are also changes to the way that companies must interact with their supply chains, including provision of revised safety data sheets sheets, and the amount of data which must be provided to downstream users.

  • Further concerns will be raised over the way in which substances of very high concern (SVHC) are to be treated in Europe following the publication, in February this year, of the first list of substances subject to authorization.

We look forward to you joining us!
