Statistics in the Courtroom: A Seminar for Litigators

The use of statistics frequently plays a critical role in the litigation arena, from evaluating cases for your clients, to resolving disputes and possibly taking a matter to trial. In this 60-minute session you will have an opportunity to hear a non-mathematical presentation by an experienced statistician on key topics:

  • Overview of basic statistical concepts;
  • Common uses of statistics as evidence in a lawsuit;
  • Use of sample surveys in assessing and presenting your case;
  • Potential bases for challenging the opposing statistician

Real vignettes will be presented from actual case experience to better understand how statistical evidence is used in a variety of matters: class actions, business litigation, product liability, construction law, personal injury, and employment law. This webinar will assist you in determining whether you need a statistician and how best to present the statistical evidence to help you present your case in the light most favorable for your client. There will be plenty of time at the end of the presentation for you to ask questions on the subject of using and challenging statistical evidence.

We look forward to you joining us!
