Consumer Product Safety and Chemical Assessment
in 2011 and Beyond:
It's a Brave New World

From lead and cadmium to phthalates and formaldehyde, the issue of trace chemicals and potentially harmful exposure from such chemicals in consumer products has been receiving more and more attention from federal and state regulators, as well as from media and consumers.

As manufacturers, retailers and distributors have mobilized to meet Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) requirements, they now find themselves dealing with numerous other issues, notably:

  • Preventing Product Recalls: What test strategies and management tools can minimize the chances of having a product recall?
  • Informing Consumers of product recalls and trace chemicals: Is there a real potential harmful exposure from the product?
  • CPSIA database:  What are possible implications?
  • Brand Protection: What steps can I take to protect my brand?
  • Product Testing: Are we doing all that we need to?

Exponent invites you to attend our webinar on Consumer Product Safety and Chemical Risk Assessments where we will discuss:

  • Practical aspects of the consumer product compliance laws with regard to chemical exposure
  • Product recall/whistleblowers
  • CPSIA database – what impact may this have on the regulated community and consumers
  • Compliance testing – how much testing is enough?
  • Product exposure testing  - how to address not only CPSIA compliance but potential consumer exposure and Proposition 65 warnings
  • Practical examples of how to test and evaluate product exposures via hand to mouth, dermal and mouthing  exposures
  • Where do we go from here?
    • Management tools
    • Chemical substitution
    • Role of product risk assessment

We look forward to you joining us!
